Sledding

During Phoebe's first winter, we were buried in snow. Unfortunately, she was only three months old and didn't get to enjoy the weather! Last winter we barely had enough snow to cover the grass, so once again, she didn't get to experience the wonder season of winter. But this year is different-finally the snow and the child's abilities catch up to each other. Over Thanksgiving week, our town got covered in a white blanket and Phoebe had her first sledding experience on Thanksgiving afternoon at the park in my parents neighborhood. I expected my cautious girl to be mad...but Phoebe loved it! She giggled her whole way down the hill and then played on the playground equipment.

Ready for the Holidays!

So, Phoebe is loving this new time of year! Her first Christmas she was too little to know what was going on or notice the snow. Last year she just noticed toys and we had no snow. This year is a whole new experience! With the snow piling up outside and the Christmas decorations all up, Phoebe is starting to get it. She had her first sledding experience on Thanksgiving afternoon with her cousin, Graesen next to her. Graesen didn't really enjoy it, but Phoebe found it fun. Our usually thrill-hiding girl giggled her way down the hills! Then we decorated this weekend, including putting the tree up! She has Christmas lights in her room and keeps looking out the windows, looking for Frosty. Even with this year being full of frustrations and stresses due to financial difficulties, Phoebe can make us forget it all (at least for a little while).
